Chris Matthews Defends Andrew Breitbart; Gets into Heated Exchange with Howard Dean – Video

Here is video of Chris Matthews getting into a heated exchange with Democrat Howard Dean over what was in the original Shirley Sherrod tape aired by Andrew Breitbart.

Matthews pointed out that the original clip included “redemptive language” to indicate what Sherrod eventually did in helping a white farmer. Matthews played the clip for Dean and Joan Walsh, and asked them why the “redemptive language” was included in the clip if Breitbart was trying to do a “total slime job” on Sherrod.

Dean then denied the “redemptive language” was in the original clip aired by Fox News. Matthews insisted it was the original clip aired by Breitbart, but Dean kept denying the language was in the original clip he heard. Matthews was obviously disgusted with Dean.

We criticize Matthews a lot here, but he did a great job in this instance.
