Obama Says He Spoke to George W. Bush Before Address – Video

Obama says he spoke to President Bush this morning before the address, and acknowledges it’s “well known” they disagreed on the war. Obama said that despite their disagreements, “No one can doubt President Bush’s support for our troops, or his love of country.”

Obama never thanked or gave credit to Bush for the surge, which was a crucial step to get to where we are now, a crucial step that Obama strongly opposed and repeatedly said would never work.
