MSNBC’s explanation for George W. Bush’s book selling so successfully is that “he was hated by so many people.”
“It may be the fact that he was hated by so many people actually helped fuel his book sales….and you can imagine that some people bought it as a gag, or some people received it as a gift and didn’t really want it.”
CBS News’ Reporter Mark Knoller has a fascinating article that recaps President Obama’s 2010 “By the Numbers.” Knoller has all the numbers on Obama’s activity, including the fact he played 29 rounds of golf in 2010, bringing the total to 57 rounds so far during his Presidency. Here are just a few of Knoller’s numbers:
The Blaze: Georgia state Sen. Robert Brown drew fire this week when he quipped that the state GOP was filled with KKK members. Now he’s under fire again after a person who accompanied him to a press conference to clear up those comments brutally attacked a local photo journalist. The local paper The Telegraph says the Senator denies being associated with the attacker, despite walking into the press conference building with him . . . . . Read More

Here is the 2012 Electoral Vote Map, updated to take into account the results of the 2010 Census. We have shaded the states according to our current estimate of how the state is likely to vote in the November 2012 General Election. States that we consider “battleground,” or “tossup” states we have shaded in green.
As you can see, President Obama starts out with a significant advantage – largely due to his virtual lock on California and New York. Those two states give him 84 Electoral Votes, nearly one-third of what he needs to win. At this point we have the Electoral Vote totals as follows:
238 – Likely Obama Votes
191 – Likely GOP Votes
109 – Battleground Votes
The outcome of the Election will likely be fought out in these nine states with a total of 109 Electoral Votes: Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida.
If the GOP candidate can win these Battleground States – Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Ohio, he or she will have 266 votes – just four short of victory. Those four could come from any of the remaining Battleground States.
We will keep this map updated with our estimates as we approach the 2012 Election. You can always access the latest map on our Electoral Vote Map Page, which is linked in the middle pollbar at the top of the page.
Here is a video montage of comments showing the stark contrast between President Obama and GOP Leaders on “American Exceptionalism.” By his own words, Obama does not think America is any more “exceptional” that Greece or Great Britain or any other country. In his world, there is an equivalency between the history and actions of the United States and that of other nations.
But the statements of GOP Leaders demonstrates the massive divide in conviction. Conservatives believe the United States is the greatest nation the world has ever seen – Greatest in terms of our Constitution, our ideals and in the way we have stood for freedom around the world. The video also shows a graphic that 91% of Republicans believe the U.S. is the “greatest country in the world,” while only 73% of Democrats agree with that statement.
Here is video of Charles Krauthammer saying that the new GOP-controlled House of Representatives must realistically focus the next two years on “containment” of President Obama. He also said they must be careful on how the seek to reduce spending. Krauthammer advised that the GOP should cap spending and set limits, but force the Obama Administration to then implement the cuts so that their fingerprints on not on the specific programs that are cut.
