Billy Graham Speaks on the Bush Family, Real Meaning of Christmas in Rare Extensive Interview – Complete Video 12/20/10

Here is video of a tremendous interview the Rev. Billy Graham gave to Greta Van Susteren last night. It is the first interview Graham has given in several years. He is now 92 years old, and suffers from Parkinson’s Disease. Yet, in this interview, he spoke clearly and with the same insight he has touched millions of lives with for decades.

Graham was asked about his relationship with the Bush Family. He told her that he knew the grandparents of George W. Bush, and then was close to his parents – George H.W. Bush and Barbara. He also spoke of talking with George W. Bush about spiritual things, where Bush asked many serious questions about the Bible. George W. Bush has credited Billy Graham with helping to lead him to put his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord.

Van Susteren asked Graham if he had “hope” for the world. Here is where Graham spoke as eloquently as ever about the Hope for all people:

“I have a tremendous amount of hope because I’m a believer in Jesus Christ – Who was raised from the dead. I believe He is alive right now. My wife is already in Heaven. I look forward to seeing her definitely in the near future, because I’m 92 now, and I know that my time is limited on this earth. But I have tremendous hope in the fact that I will be in the future-life, and I’ll be there because of what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross and in the Resurrection. This gives me a great deal of hope.”

And on the meaning of Christmas:

“When I looked into the crib, or the manger, and saw that little baby that was going to rise to become the greatest teacher that ever lived, to die on the cross for my sin – to know that I would be forgiven because of what He was doing – it absolutely transformed Christmas for me.”

When asked what he would do differently if he had a chance to do life over:

“I would pray more, travel less, take less speaking engagements. I took too many of them in too many places around the world. If I had it to do over again, I’d spend more time in meditation and prayer – and just telling the Lord how much I love Him and adore Him, and I’m looking forward to the time we’re going to spend together for eternity.”

Graham clarified that he did not mean he would preach less to the great crowds who came to hear the Gospel. He meant he would take less speaking engagements at conferences around the world and other venues that ate up a great deal of his time and energy.

Graham said that the largest audience he ever spoke to in person was in Seoul, South Korea, where a crowd of 1 million people gathered to hear him preach.
