Chris Matthews Says He “Created” Michele Bachmann – Video 4/5/11

Chris Matthews and panel discuss whether Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is seriously going to run for president. Matthews started off the segment with the strange claim that “we created her here” — suggesting that his show is responsible for Bachmann’s success and recognition.

“Well, an amazing topic for this show. We created her here, Michele Bachmann, she’s been dipping her toes into the presidential waters out there, her latest move a big signal she’s increasingly likely to run for president.”

Matthews disagreed with his guests who believe Bachmann won’t be able to win the nomination. He said he believes she has a shot because the “anti-intellectual” part of the Republican party will like her because she’s “sorta basic” and still “learning things.”
