Bill O’Reilly says he will demand a statement from the FBI on the Anthony Weiner Twitter controversy. O’Reilly said Rep. Weiner has made the allegation that he was hacked and it “has to be investigated,” even if Weiner doesn’t file a complaint with the FBI.
MSNBC’s Martin Bashir says Sarah Palin’s bus tour “could be in breach of a federal law” because her bus displays the U.S. flag:
In his accusatory “Clear the Air” segment, the former ABC Nightline anchor lectured Palin that “standards of respect and etiquette” discourage using the American flag for “any advertising purpose whatsoever.”
“She drapes herself in the stars and stripes and makes millions of dollars in the process,” chided Bashir. “This has got nothing to do with the presidency and everything to do with filling her pockets.”
The only problem: the Supreme Court ruled in 1989 that flag burning is protected by the First Amendment. If flag burning is protected speech, certainly displaying the flag on a tour bus is legal. Or do the rules not apply to Sarah Palin? In Bashir’s warped sense of reality, conservatives like Palin would be arrested for flying the American flag at rallies in which they promote causes that Bashir does not support.
In an interview with The Today Show, Former Gov. Mitt Romney says President Obama is “one of the most ineffective presidents at the job at hand that I’ve ever seen” and says his presidency has “failed.”
Rep. Anthony Weiner repeatedly refuses to answer questions from reporters about the Twitter photo controversy. Weiner’s response to basically all the reporters’ simple questions was “this is a distraction.” After receiving this same response to several questions, one of the reporters finally tells him, “This ‘distraction’ might go away if you answer some of the questions that are out there.”
CNN reports that Rep. Anthony Weiner has refused to answer “basic questions” about the “Weinergate” Twitter controversy. Weiner claims his Twitter account was hacked but refuses to say whether he has asked for an investigation. He also refused to explain why he was following a 21-year-old female student on Twitter, and wouldn’t even answer if the “lewd photo” was a photo of himself.
Here is video of Gov. Sarah Palin talking with Greta Van Susteren aboard her bus on her Bus Tour of historic sites. This is a preview of an extensive interview that will air tonight on Van Susteren’s Fox News program.
Palin addresses criticism from the Mainstream Media about the tour, particularly that there is no set schedule for stops. Palin responded to the criticism by saying flatly, “I don’t think I owe anything to the Mainstream Media.”
That is undeniably true, as they have savaged her since she was selected by Sen. John McCain to run as his Vice-Presidential running mate in 2008.
