Obama Ridicules GOP on Border Security: “Next they Will Want a Moat” with “Alligators in the Moat” – Video 5/10/11

Here is video of President Obama today in El Paso, Texas, where he delivered a speech on Immigration. Obama used the speech to attack Republicans as he stood at the U.S. Border with Mexico. Obama said the debate over who can and cannot “come to this country” is “not new.” The strong feelings over the issue have “made it difficult,” Obama said, to get anything done on reform Immigration.

Obama bragged that he has put “more boots on the ground” at the border “than at any time in our history.” Obama said “the fence” on the border is “now basically complete.” He was trying to make the case that he has solved the issue of “closing the border,” so now there is no reason not to pass comprehensive immigration reform. He used his tactic of ridicule to mock Republicans, saying next “they will want a moat” – and will “want alligators in the moat.”

Somehow I don’t think the people living on the border think the border is secure.

NOTE: Shocker! Obama remembered “endowed by our Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence! There’s hope for him yet!
