Very interesting.

News is out tonight that GOP Rep. Thad McCotter will file paperwork to run for President of the United States tomorrow! McCotter will reportedly announce his candidacy on July 2:

POLITICO: Thaddeus McCotter will file paperwork on Friday to become the eighth Republican candidate for president, a McCotter adviser told POLITICO.

McCotter spent four days in Iowa this week and came away “feeling positive” about his reception, the adviser said. His presidential campaign website will go live around noon tomorrow, allowing the four-term Michigan congressman to kick off his long-shot bid on the first day of the new fundraising quarter.

His presidential committee, dubbed McCotter 2012, will start out with funds in the six figures, according to the source. The campaign will not have to file a full fundraising report until the fall. McCotter had nearly half a million dollars in his House campaign account at the end of March.

The source said that former Iowa House Speaker Pro Tem Chris Rants will serve as McCotter’s senior adviser in the first-in-the-nation caucus state.

Rants, who endorsed Mitt Romney early in the 2008 cycle, confirmed that he spent the week introducing McCotter to Iowans and the state of the race.

“Should he decide to run, I will be on board to help him navigate the Hawkeye state,” Rants said. . . . Read More

McCotter is from Michigan, and he is a guy who could really make an impact in this race. I think he has a chance to do well in Iowa and beyond. He strikes me as a great thinker with a quick wit.

Here is a new National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) ad that destroys Obama with his own words. The ad plays audio of Obama’s arrogant attack on Congress for not “leading” and cutting out time off to get a deal done on the debt ceiling crisis. While audio of Obama’s self-righteous words is playing, images of Obama playing ping pong, drinking beer, playing golf etc. are flashed on the screen. It points out that Obama has played 76 rounds of golf during his 2+ years in the White House, taken 48 days of vacation, and held 149 fundraisers.

It concludes with the statement on the screen: “Actions speak louder than words.”

One more Glenn Beck video today. It is a follow-up to something we posted earlier in the week, when Beck told of how his family was treated when they went to New York City’s Bryant Park to watch a movie with their daughter. Beck had told of how they were harassed and a glass of wine was spilled on his wife.

It seems a woman wrote into New York Magazine to say she was there and that Beck had told falsehoods about what happened. In the video above, Beck goes through her account, and then reveals some information about her gleaned from her Twitter account and that of her friend. What they found is very interesting.

Scott Baker at The Blaze has the screenshots from the Twitter accounts and all the details.

Here is video of GOP Sen. Rand Paul speaking from the floor of the U.S. Senate today where he responded to President Obama’s chastisement of Congress yesterday during his Press Conference. Obama said the Congress needs to “cancel things” and “get it done” – referring to solving the debt ceiling crisis.

Today, Rand Paul addressed his remarks to Obama, saying, “Mr. President, we are here. We welcome you to come back to town in between fundraisers.” He had earlier said, “We are here. Where are you?”

Obama is out of Washington today doing another fundraiser in Pennsylvania. Obama chided the Congress even though he is the one who has played golf for the past 13 weekends.

GOP Sen. Marco Rubio, in an interview with National Review Online, has reacted to President Obama’s arrogant behavior at a Press Conference yesterday by saying he sounded more like “some left-wing strong man” than a “President of the United States.” Rubio will reportedly make a speech on the Senate Floor soon responding to Obama’s attacks on Republicans:

THE CORNER (Robert Costa): . . . . Look for the Rubio buzz to continue. In an interview with National Review Online, he says that he will take to the Senate floor for his second speech this week — and this time he will have President Obama in his crosshairs.

Rubio tells us that he will respond to Obama’s recent press conference, where the president reveled in class-warfare bluster. “Quite frankly, I am both disappointed for our country and shocked at some of the rhetoric,” he says. “It was rhetoric, I thought, that was more appropriate for some left-wing strong man than for the president of the United States.”

“Talking about corporate jets and oil companies,” Rubio says, missed the point. “Everybody here agrees that our tax code is broken,” he says, and he is open to discussing tax reform. “But don’t go around telling people that the reason you are not doing well is because some rich guy is in a corporate jet or some oil company is making too much money.”

Watching Obama brandish such talking points made Rubio wince. “Three years into his presidency, he is a failed president,” he says. “He just has not done a good job. Life in America today, by every measure, is worse than it was when he took over.” . . . . Read More

Here is raw video (in French) from French TV showing France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy being grabbed by an assailant as he shook hands in the French city of Brax. The man grabbed Sarkozy by the shoulder and tried to pull him over a barricade. Sarkozy quickly escaped the grasp of the man and security officials tackled the assailant.

Images broadcast on French television showed Sarkozy reach over a metal barricade to greet onlookers, when an arm grabbed his suit roughly by the shoulder and pulled it toward the crowd.

Sarkozy started to lose his balance and fall, then immediately recoiled and righted himself. Security officers pulled the assailant to the ground, as the president, visibly shaken, looked on. . . . Read More

Another outstanding ad from the Mitt Romney Campaign focused squarely on Barack Obama.

This one highlights the Allentown (PA) Metal Works Comapny that Obama visited a year and touted as a success story of his nearly $1 Trillion “Stimulus” boondoggle. That company has since close down.

The message of the ad is: “Obama Isn’t Working.”

Here is a powerful new ad for Herman Cain that takes aim at Barack Obama’s radical associations and his radical philosophy. The ad says “a man is judged by the company he keeps,” and points out the radical people Obama has paled around with. It also quotes Obama making extreme statements, like saying the U.S. Constitution is an “imperfect document,” and from Obama’s own book where he mentions he had to be careful telling people about his “Marxist Professors.”

Interspersed throughout the ad is the voice of Herman Cain giving a dramatic contrast in his vision for America than the Leftist vision Barack Obama is trying to turn America into.
