Karl Rove Says Obama is “Not Turning into Jimmy Carter – He’s Turning into James Buchanan!” – Video 8/8/11

Here is video of Karl Rove on with Bill O’Reilly last night where he said “Jimmy Carter” is actually the wrong President to compare Barack Obama to. Instead, Rove said he is far more like “James Buchanan,” who was President just before Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War:

“He’s not turning into Jimmy Carter. He’s turning into James Buchanan – a man who knew exactly what the big challenges were facing the country and proved incapable of doing anything about them, or unwilling to do anything about them, which is what I think this President is – unwilling to do it.”

Interestingly, Rove also said it is not Bill Daley who is Obama’s closest adviser. He said it’s David Plouffe, and that they know Obama can’t get re-elected on the economy. Therefore, their strategy is going to be to make the GOP Nominee seem so unacceptable to the American public that people will decide to vote for Obama even though they don’t like the job he has done as President.
