Here’s another report on Perry’s speech today in San Antonio, and his schedule for the weekend as he travels to South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Iowa:

Here are two video reports on Texas Gov. Rick Perry speaking in San Antonio this morning to a national conference of state legislators. Perry used the speech to sound the alarm that, “Simply put – Our Country’s in trouble.” He went on to say that our leaders in Washington have tried to “spend our way” out of economic trouble, but have “only deepened our crisis and deepened our debt.” But Perry reportedly told the gathering that he is still a “West Texas optimist” who believes America’s best days are still ahead.

Perry is expected to make clear his intention to run for President in a speech in South Carolina this coming Saturday.
