White House Press Secretary Jay Carney Patronizes WSJ Reporter: “Oh, I Would Expect a Reporter for the Wall Street Journal to Know This” – Video 8/10/11
Here is video of White House Press Secretary Jay Carney being rude to a Wall Street Journal reporter who asked him how it is that “extending unemployment insurance creates jobs?”
Carney gave her a really sarcastic response: “”Oh, I would expect a reporter for the Wall Street Journal to know this.”
Most people do not think in terms of Government paying money out to unemployment insurance as the way to create jobs! Is Carney suggesting we need more unemployed people so the Government can pay them and create more jobs? I don’t think so – but it’s silly to argue that unemployment payments are creating jobs in America. We need jobs so people won’t be unemployed and won’t get a Government check!
The other thing that stands out is just how rude Carney is to the reporter. She asked a clear question, and he did not need to be so sarcastic with her. But it is not uncommon for many liberals to respond in that fashion when someone challenges their policies. They respond with personal attacks instead of simply stating their point of view. It seems to stem from a real sense of superiority they often have toward those with more conservative views. I did not think someone could be more unlikable in the job than Robert Gibbs. But Carney has him beat hands down, in my view.
