Gov. Rick Perry Fires Warning Shot on Possible Federal Reserve Money Printing Shenanigans to Help Obama – Video 8/15/11
During a stop tonight at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired a warning shot at the Obama Administration and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
Perry was asked to comment on “the Fed,” and while he said he didn’t really want to take on the Fed question right now, he did have some blunt comments about the rumored possibility of the Federal Reserve printing a lot more money between now and November 2012 to make the economy appear better than it really is. Perry said:
“If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what y’all would do to him in Iowa but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treasonous in my opinion.”
ABC News’ “The Note” reports Perry went on to say:
He added, “We’ve already tried this. All it’s going to be doing is devaluing the dollar in your pocket and we cannot afford that. We have to learn the lessons of the past three years that they’ve been devastating. The President of the United States has conducted an experiment on the American economy for almost the last three years, and it has gone tragically wrong and we need to send him a clear message in November of 2012 that new leadership is coming.”
When asked in a follow-up interview whether Perry thought that the Federal Reserve was playing politics to try to help President Obama, he replied: “If they print more money between now and this election, I would suggest that’s exactly what’s going on.”
Notice how the video clip, uploaded by far-Left “Think Progress”, is given the melodramatic title “Perry threatens Bernanke” – as if he threatened bodily harm. They just don’t get that’s Perry’s Texas way of saying – ‘We’ve got our eye on the shenanigans ya’ll might be planning to pull to save Obama’s rear end.’
Good grief. Expect the liberal media to spend several days trying to make a mountain out of this.
