Here is video of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in a heated interview with Chairman of the Republican National Committee Reince Priebus. Matthews spent most of the segment trying to slam Republican candidates who believe people are here by design and purpose (Creation) rather than emerging from slime by chance (Evolution). But in the midst of it all, he made a startling admission.

Priebus told Matthews he did not think the 2012 Election would be decided on “evolution,” but on the question, “Am I better off than I was 3 or 4 years ago.” Matthews quickly responded, “If that’s the issue, you win.” He even repeated it: “If that’s the issue, you win – if it’s just about conditions.”

“Just about conditions?” Matthews is making the admission that Barack Obama cannot win on how he has governed the nation. He cannot win on his record. He can only win by so demonizing his opponent that Americans become afraid to not vote for him.

Matthews continually tried to blame George W. Bush and the Republicans for all the ills of the nation, while Priebus doggedly kept coming back to Obama’s record, saying he is responsible for his own record.
