SarahPAC Releases New Palin Video that Has the Feel of a Presidential Campaign; Could September 3 Event be the Big Day? – 8/19/11

As I mentioned in a previous post today, I have really not felt like Sarah Palin was going to run for President this go around. Until now.

I’m still not sure, but this video just released by SarahPAC really has the feel of a video getting ready for a Presidential run. It even features members of the liberal media being complimentary of Palin and her willingness to answer their questions at the recent Iowa State Fair.

As Allahpundit at Hot Air points out, could this September 3 event in Iowa be where she will announce she is running?

Sure does look like a campaign ad. I hope that it’s not. All she would do now is split the conservative vote and help elect “the establishment” candidate, aka Romney.

She claims that she might jump in if she does not see someone that she likes. With Perry in, you have the nations most experienced executive leader with a conservative record to match. If she jumps in now, it’s more about her, and her ambition. Not the good of the country.

We will learn a lot about her in the next few weeks…

On the surface, it would seem Palin getting in would serve to split the conservative vote and hand the nomination to Mitt Romney. But it would not necessarily work that way.

It could be that Palin would primarily divide votes with Bachmann and some of the other candidates besides Rick Perry. If most of Perry’s support is from people who view him as capable of beating Romney AND Obama, and Palin is not viewed as electable in a General Election no matter how beloved she is, her getting in the race could also galvanize support for Perry. He could be the candidate people coalesce around to keep Romney from getting the nomination, but who can also win against Obama.

It is very hard to read what the effect will be. If Palin gets in, her biggest problem will be the questions as to whether she can win anywhere that Obama won in 2008. Can she take states away from him in order to win. So far, early polling has not shown that she can. She has trailed Obama badly in all the battleground states – literally. In North Carolina she trails Obama by 8 in the most recent poll; Florida – she trails by 19 points; Ohio – she trails by 16 points; Colorado – she trails by 19 points; New Mexico – she trails by 20 points; Iowa – she trails by 20 points; Virginia – she trails by 14 points; New Hampshire – she trails by 15 points; Wisconsin – she trails by 19 points; Nevada – she trails by 11 points. On and on it goes. Now I know some of those polls lean Democrat, but not by that many points. The same polls show other GOP Candidates much closer if not ahead of Obama in some cases.

A Palin entrance into the race will force conservatives to face up to this question. We love Sarah Palin, and we hate how she has been unfairly treated, but can she win a General Election?

Palin will be our next great president in 2012.  Her ‘negatives’ are all based on lies.  The more people know the truth about her, the more like her.  This is the opposite with most politicians, and especially Obama.

Sarah gets the biggest crowds, and the most comments on news sites -
    -
    Because she quit fighting? No.
    Because she is defeated? No.
    Because she is irrelevant? No.
    -
Because she motivates patriots and scares the crap out of socialists? Yep. That’s the one.
