Karl Rove to Fox News’ Bret Baier: Your “10 to 1 Cuts to Taxes” Debate Question was “Lousy” – Video 8/21/11

Here is video of Karl Rove today on Fox News Sunday telling Bret Baier what a lot of conservatives have wanted to tell him since the Fox News GOP Debate in Iowa.

Baier asked the GOP Candidates a pitiful question that put them in the position of answering hypothetically if they would “walk away” from a deal with Obama that would give $10 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax increases. All the GOP Candidates said they would walk away by a show of hands.

Rove told Baier flatly that his question was a “lousy debate question” but it did not give the candidates a chance to clarify and expand on their answer.

I have to agree. It struck me at the time as an unfair question designed to make the GOP Candidates look bad. It gave them no opportunity to explain why tax increases in any amount is the wrong way to go for the American Economy.
