Gov. Rick Perry Touts Record of Job Creation in Texas; Hits Romney for Not Creating “Very Many Jobs” as Massachusetts Governor – Video 9/5/11

Gov. Rick Perry in South Carolina this morning for a Town Hall Meeting made the statement that no other Presidential Candidate – while all good people – has the “record of job creation that I have.” Perry singled out Mitt Romney without calling him by name, saying “there is one (candidate) who has created jobs all over the world, but while he was Governor of Massachusetts he didn’t create very many jobs.”

Perry said it is the role of Government to create an environment that fosters job creation, even saying about the incredible record of job creation in Texas, “I didn’t create those jobs – Americans created those jobs – Texans created those jobs, because we allowed them to have an environment where they weren’t over-taxed, over-regulated, over-litigated, and then we got out of the way and let the private sector do what the private sector can do.”
