Gov. Rick Perry Stands Strong for Death Penalty for Heinous Crimes; Cheered by Crowd at Presidential Debate – Video 9/7/11

Here is video from tonight’s GOP Presidential Debate of NBC’s Brian Williams asking Rick Perry about the Death Penalty – something anathema to the Left. and whether he had “trouble sleeping at night” because of it. When Williams asked Perry about the “234 Executions” in Texas on his watch, the crowd at the Reagan Library cheered, and Perry said he had no problem sleeping. Perry made it clear that if you commit murder in Texas, you can expect to face the ultimate penalty:

“No sir. I’ve never struggled with that at all . . . If you kill one of our children or police officers or another citizen in a crime you will face the ultimate justice in Texas.”

This was a strong moment for Perry.

I was profoundly disappointed w/ Perry’s global warming answer…  As a proud denier, nothing irks me more than a pol who cannot articulate the arguments against MMGW…

Perry certainly could have done better with that. He has done better in past situations when facing that question. I think by that time in the debate, Perry was wearing down a bit. Virtually every question by the moderators was either about something he had said, done, or written. He’s in the right place on the issue, but you’re right, Mike – he could have been better on it last night.

They were pillaging Perry from all angles, and now we see the unholy alliance of the MSM-Romney-Corporate Wing of the GOP, etc. doing, everything, in their power to get Romney the nomination…

The White House, Plouffe, Axelrod, etc. are dying to run against Willard Mitt.

Yes, I agree he could have handled it better, probably could of cited those recently revealed emails from those quack scientists in the UK, the monies Prince Albert has made shaking down companies, the fact that neither China or India will reduce their emissions, anyway, et al
