New Polls Show Republicans Likely to Sweep Special Congressional Elections in New York and Nevada Tomorrow

New Polls show that Republicans are likely to go two for two in Special Congressional Elections to be held tomorrow, one in Nevada (NV CD-2), and the other in the heart of New York City (NY CD-9)!

ROLL CALL: Republicans appear poised to have a very good run during Tuesday’s special elections for House seats.

“It looks like Democrats will go 0 for 2 in Tuesday’s special elections,” Public Policy Polling President Dean Debnam said in a statement.

Republican Bob Turner topped Democrat David Weprin by 6 points in a new poll in New York’s 9th Congressional district while Democrat Kate Marshall trailed Republican Mark Amodei by 13 points in a new poll in Nevada’s 2nd Congressional district. . . . Read More

In New York CD-9, Public Policy Polling says Republican Bob Turner is likely to win because of the unpopularity of President Barack Obama:

PUBLIC POLICY POLLING: . . . .If Turner wins on Tuesday it will be largely due to the incredible unpopularity of Barack Obama dragging his party down in the district. Obama won 55% there in 2008 but now has a staggeringly bad 31% approval rating, with 56% of voters disapproving of him. It’s a given that Republicans don’t like him but more shocking are his 16% approval rating with independents and the fact that he’s below 50% even with Democrats at 46% approving and 38% disapproving. Obama trails Mitt Romney 46-42 in a hypothetical match up in the district and leads Rick Perry only 44-43. . . . Read More

Did you catch the significance of that? In a heavily Democrat district in New York City, 56% of voters disapprove of him. Mitt Romney is beating Obama there by 4-points, and Texan Rick Perry is only 1-point down to Obama there! Those numbers have to be scaring the Obama White House out of their minds right now!
