Report: Gov. Rick Perry to Meet with Donald Trump Tonight – 9/14/11

Word is out that Gov. Rick Perry will meet tonight with Donald Trump:

Texas Gov. Rick Perry will meet with real estate mogul and reality TV star Donald Trump in New York on Wednesday, ABC News has learned.

After speaking this morning to a conservative Christian audience in Virginia at Liberty University, Perry will attend fundraisers in Virginia, before heading to New York for his private sit down with The Donald and more fundraisers, according source familiar with the meeting.

Trump caused a stir when he considered his own presidential bid earlier this year. He ultimately decided not to run, but has tried to continue to influence politics, offering advice to Republicans from Youtube and on Twitter. Trump has not ruled out running for president as an Independent.

“I think he’s a very impressive guy. I’ve spoken to him a number of times,” Trump said of Perry in an recent interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “I think he’s a very impressive guy with a very good record.”. . . .
