Friends of Houston Woman Who Died of Cervical Cancer Defend Rick Perry against Attacks on HPV Vaccine – Video Report 9/14/11

For the critics of Rick Perry who try to make his Executive Order in 2007 to get the HPV Vaccine to young women in Texas some kind of diabolical decision, they might want to take a look at this video report from Houston TV Station KTRK. It tells the story of a cervical cancer victim that Gov. Rick Perry became very close to as she was dying. Her friends are speaking out in Perry’s defense, angry that he is being vilified for taking up the cause of protecting the lives of young women.

Note: I initially posted it was the “family” of the woman who are speaking out, but changed it to “friends” who are featured in this video report.

What is worse, an optional vaccine that was NEVER administered or RomneyCare, the muse for ObamaCare….

I’m not sure why this is being pushed here.  All the other videos are terrific.  But we can’t blindly defend Perry on this and for heaven’s sake we should not use the very liberal tactic of throwing up a single emotional and personal scenario as a defense for an action that could negatively impact millions of people on the other side.  Why can’t the answer be to educate young women on the dangers of promiscuous sexual activity?  Heck, we may as well start supporting abortion now because nobody is capable of controlling themselves.  If Perry really cares about women, he tells the truth of the dangers of promiscuity and stands up for marriage as 1 man, 1 women for life.  These are the foundational values that built the families that made this country great.  Be a man and stand up for them.

The report said it was signed to be mandated.  Much different than optional

Brad is spot on in his arguments – we won’t get anywhere until we find people who are selfless, humble and charitable – and willing to stand for Truth.  We once had a doctor tell us after he conceded that as long as girls practice abstinence, they have no worries about contracting HPV, that girls should still get it in case they are ever raped…….AE YOU JOKING ME?!?!?   Can someone say – “please get this vaccine, its how I get paid!”
