A Surge for Herman Cain at the “Presidency 5″ Florida Straw Poll?

More from Byron York at the “Presidency 5″ Straw Poll in Orlando. He is picking up a possible late surge for Herman Cain among those attending – especially among concerned Rick Perry supporters:

WASHINGTON EXAMINER: ORLANDO — There’s no scientific polling, but talks with dozens of delegates who will vote in today’s Florida straw poll suggest that many are making last-minute decisions to vote for Herman Cain.

What seems to be happening is this: A lot of delegates came to Orlando planning to vote for Rick Perry. But Perry’s poor performance at Thursday night’s Fox News-Google debate gave them pause and re-opened the question of whom they will support. And many of the conservatives who were attracted to Perry will, when asked for a second choice, naturally gravitate to Cain, who, it just happens, had a particularly good debate on Thursday.     He would destroy 0bama in the election and he prevents 0bama from playing the race card

    Cain is also the BEST on solving illegal immigration and the crushing regulations of the EPA enviro-wackos who are driving businesses and jobs overseas to China.

    Perry is an open borders RINO
    Romney is a flip-flopping “individual mandate” 0bamacare RINO
    Bachmann (not bad) but simply cannot win as Independents see her as worse than Palin
    Gingrich is smart but too old-school and un-relateable
    The libertarians Paul and Johnson have good points, but are too extreme
    Santorum will never gain any traction – He is toast

    Only HERMAN CAIN can both Defeat 0bama, while bringing respect and solid fiscal Conservative principles to the Executive Branch.

    CAIN will DESTROY 0bama in the general election — isn’t that the goal?
    …and Cain the clearly the most likeable guy up there.

    I do really like Herman Cain, Jake. He did very well in the last debate, and I would look for him to move up – along with Newt Gingrich – in upcoming polls. It will be interesting to see how Herman does in today’s “Presidency 5″ Straw Poll in Florida.
