Herman Cain Wins Florida “Presidency 5″ Straw Poll by Wide Margin – Results 9/24/11 VIDEO ADDED

Results from the “Presidency 5″ Straw Poll were just announced, and Herman Cain is the winner! There were 2,657 votes cast:

986 – Herman Cain (37.1%)

410 – Rick Perry (15.4%)

372 – Mitt Romney

289 – Rick Santorum

276 – Ron Paul

224 – Newt Gingrich

60 – Jon Huntsman

40 – Michele Bachmann

Here’s video of Gov. Rick Scott announcing the results. When he got down to the top two, he forgot to give Rick Perry’s total and went straight to the winner – Herman Cain!

That’s a big win for Herman Cain. No one deserves it more.

Rick Perry not only had a bad debate Thursday night, but made a huge tactical error today in not speaking directly to the crowd at Presidency 5, but instead leaving this morning to speak in Michigan at Mackinac Island – where Romney is going to dominate anyway. But I don’t think Perry would have beaten Herman Cain anyway today. Perry is in big trouble, as Republicans are clearly now looking elsewhere.

I like Perry, but I just don’t know, its not the immigration issue, he just seems to not be good at debates.

I love Herman Cain. When I just heard this on Fox, I was clapping so loudly :-)

I’ll vote for any repub in the general, but I really respect Cain so much, he’s going to make mistakes because he’s not a professional politician; but he seems to admit it when he makes a mistake and improves, but he is a true American success, knocked down, picked himself up again. His dad I think was a chauffeur, Cain is a true American success story.  I just couldn’t make myself vote for Romney in the primaries after Perry stumbled last Thursday, Cain was my next choice.

I don’t agree with Cain on everything, but when it comes to fiscal, limited govt things, I completely agree with. I’m so glad he won!

I couldn’t agree more. Cain is a great man, and it will be interesting to see if he really begins to move up now in the polls. I still think Gingrich will move up in the polls as well. Bachmann’s showing here was completely dismal.

Bachmann in my opinion damaged herself severely when she went off the rails in claiming that the vaccine causes mental retardation because someone told her, and then said she’s not a doctor.

Any Republican candidate cannot make this mistake, especially with the media continuously fluffing the pillow for the Messiah Barry. The thing is people already know in 2012 whose side the media is on, so they take anything they have to say with that bias already baked in.

I have to agree Gingrich was very good in the debates as well, Cain, Newt are the strongest when it comes to articulating  limited govt principles. Perry is a governor who very effectively governed and very conservatively as well, but he just doesn’t seem to be able to articulate it, not sure why.

Not sure if you’ve seen this, but Mr. Cain’s response to Morgan Freeman’s ignorant racist comments.

    Pure class by Mr. Cain.

Your analysis above about the the terrible debate performance and engaging in the Michigan event, Romney’s backyard after Massachusetts and Utah, is spot on, I totally agree with you…by the way, thanks for keeping us informed, updated and posting all these videos.
