Here’s the 40-day average of polls on the 2012 GOP Presidential Nomination race. It shows Texas Gov. Rick Perry topping the field, with a more than 10-point lead over Mitt Romney.
Of course, all of the polls used in the average were done before Perry’s debacle this weekend, with his poor debate performance Thursday night, and his loss in the “Presidency 5″ Florida Straw Poll to Herman Cain.
Polls over the next two weeks will begin to show what impact these events have had on the race, and whether Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, or one of the other candidates will make a move up.
Check more polling information in our Polling & Election Center. NOTE: We’re still working on getting the state polls over the last two weeks updated.
