GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt Asks “60 Minutes” Reporter Why She is Not Rooting for American Corporations – Video 10/9/11

Here is video of an interesting moment during a “60 Minutes” interview that Leslie Stahl did with GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt. They discuss the idea that the American Public hates big corporations, which, ironically, President Obama and Democrats push all the time. But Immelt said he believes that concept is “wrong-minded,” and said he believes the employees of his company are rooting for them.

At the end, Immelt had some words for Stahl:

“They root for us. They want us to win. I don’t know why you don’t.”

Very ironic when you consider Immelt’s support for Barack Obama, who is staking his entire re-election campaign on being able to divide America along his class warfare lines.

    GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt discusses the idea that the American Public hates big corporations and while the German people root for German companies to succeed.

    I feel you cannot possible compare the 2 countries. Why? 90% of Germany is unionized making €50 + an hour and the workers elect the board of Directors. 

    In the United States the average worker makes less $13/ hour and if lucky you may even get health insurance. 

    If American corporations want the public support stop sucking us dry. You can start by paying your fair share of taxes of no less than 50%. The rich where taxed 90% under FDR and they still retained wealthy life style.

    All I hear – cut taxes, cut taxes for businesses!!! Y? They don’t pay the workers nothing anyway. All they care about is cutting cost to increase their stock and where does that leave you!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!!
