New Video Compilation Goes After Mitt Romney’s Liberal Positions on a Host of Issues

Here is a new compilation video that chronicles Gov. Mitt Romney’s positions on a whole host of issues. Some of the clips are of Romney many years ago taking very liberal positions on abortion, which he says now he is against. But many of the clips are more recent, and show Romney taking positions on issues like President Obama’s $787 Billion Stimulus Bill – which Romney supported, and the TARP bailout – which he also supported.

The Hill recently reported on the group that produced this video – “The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama” – and their plans to launch a major ad campaign in Iowa focusing on Mitt Romney’s past liberal positions:

THE HILL: The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama will launch a major ad campaign in Iowa accusing Mitt Romney for being a flip-flopping liberal in disguise.

The group has a long version of the ad, titled “Liberal Mitt’s greatest hits,” with clips of Romney taking positions that are anathema to many conservatives today.

Spokesman Ryan Gill described the initial video as a “roadmap” for the ads that will be aired, and said the group will run a six-figure ad buy in Iowa on cable and broadcast television to knock down Romney’s numbers there and damage his “inevitability argument.”

Gill said that the group is likely to expand the effort to attack Romney in other early-voting states including New Hampshire and Nevada, although the size of those ad buys is contingent on fundraising.

“Right now we’re just going to focus on our Stop Mitt Romney effort. Our analysis of the field is he’s the guy who’s not acceptable to conservatives but is displaying this ability to get the GOP nomination and risk what we had last time around with John McCain,” said Gill. . . . Read More

This is dumb, you can find evidence of anyone in there early years making unwise decisions. Rick Perry was out totting around with Al Gore at this time wearing the democrat sleeve, Doesn’t that mean that he was also a pro-choice supporter, This is just more of Rick Perry detracting voters from what matters, The Economy and beating Obama. And on those two front’s Romney is obviously the best and most qualified, He has the proven private sector and political sector record and he is the most organized to be able to battle the Obama 1 billion dollar campaign. Plus, Romney is Pro Life, “does he have to commit suicide to prove to everyone that he is Pro Life? plus, Romney doesn’t and has never denied that at one point in his political career he did support a womens right to choose but stated that the day the first bill was laid on his desk to ove towards pro choice he felt a deep feeling that it was wrong and he never supported any bill or funding and states that from that day forward he has been pro life. I think that’s admirable, tested and Romney is our man! Romney RUbio or Romney Cain for 2012!

Ben, I do believe people can change their views and convictions. With Romney, it’s not that he was pro-choice back in the 1990′s that is the problem. It is the amount of change in convictions that took place around 2006-2007 when Romney decided to seek the 2008 GOP Nomination. As you see in this video, it’s also his positions far more recently on issues like the Stimulus, TARP, and Immigration.

Now, Romney would be far and away better than Barack Obama. But that does not mean conservatives should not look at Romney’s record and his positions on issues today before the nomination is settled.

Exactly.  Most people will modify some of their views as time goes on. Even seeming to do 180 on some things. Usually, they’re becoming more true to their core values. But not so much, and not at such opportune times.
I have to wonder, if the Democrat Party had optes to Primary Obama, what bandwagon would Romney be on?

Romney is the only candidate in the race that has a chance of beating Obama due to Independents. He can carry Dem’s who don’t like Obama, moderate Republicans and even some far right Republicans because they can’t stand to see Obama win. Independents will go heavy for Romney as long as he doesn’t put one of the far right candidates on the ticket with him.The other candidates with the exception of Huntsman are backed by the bible thumping religious fanatics and tea bagging lunatics. That”rock wont roll” with Independents because they will run as far from the radical right as possible, many would stay with Obama. Romney is a class act and Perry looked like a deer in headlights at previous debates. Now Christi from NJ endorses Romney , won’t be long before the NE is supporting him. Ron Paul is the only other candidate some Independents like but know the GOP establishment will never let hin have the nomination.
