Mike Huckabee Blasts Herman Cain Abortion Comments as “Very Pro-Choice”; Says “the Damage is Done” – Video 10/22/11

Here is video of Gov. Mike Huckabee declaring Herman Cain’s recent comments on abortion were “very pro-choice in the way he worded it,” and said his attempts to walk the comments back are not going to be enough. “The damage is done” with conservatives, Huckabee believes, and said it will really hurt Cain in Iowa.

The tragedy is that Herman Cain has been, and continues to say he is strongly “Pro-Life.” That makes this whole thing a gigantic unforced error on his part. This should have never been an issue for him, but now it has become a huge problem.

so Mr. Huckabee is ok with allowing victims of rape and incest being forced to bear that child who was not something they wanted and it was forced on them??
As as independent, Mr. Cain’s views seem more reasonable even for people who are not pro-life. There are millions of people who may not think life begins at conception, but that does not mean they want abortion used as birth control, they oppose late term and partial abortions, they oppose federal funds of planned parenthood for abortions. But they also recognize that victims of a crime’s opinions and choices should be taken with more weight
After listening to Huckabee, I put in him in the same category as Santorum, a nicer version of Santorum.

I wish this entire issue had not come up, the economy is much more important, I don’t care about social issues this time around, I don’t often do anyways. So who is the pro-life community going to back? Romney? Perry?

That’s a good question, average voter.

“I wish this entire issue had not come up…”  Yeah, but it did; everyone knew it would, and again Cain couldn’t handle it.  If Cain had solid core principles on this critical issue, he would take a stand, articulate it well, and stick with it.

If all pro-life voters have is pro-abortion flip-flopper Romney, another abortion flip-flopper in Cain, and Perry who endorsed pro-abortion Giuliani, who else do we have?  Ron Paul is the last man standing; Paul has signed the pro-life pledge, and he is actually discussing his pro-life position in his speeches and TV ads – that is a refreshing change.
