Herman Cain Responds to the Furor over His “Smoking” Ad – Audio 10/25/11

Herman Cain responded today to the furor over his new web ad that features his own Chief of Staff smoking a cigarette after arguing for his candidacy. Cain responded on the Michael Berry radio program. He said he did not expect all the attention the smoking ad has gotten, but said it was just his Chief of Staff being himself.

I don’t think most people are bothered by the fact Mark Block is a smoker. That’s his right and his choice. The furor is over the issue of Cain’s campaign judgment. Why make an ad like that? What’s the point? Even with the smoking aside, it’s just odd to use your own Chief of Staff – a paid staff member (presumably) – to argue for your candidacy.
