Rick Perry in Extensive Interview on Fox News Sunday; Commits to Next Five GOP Debates; Not Afraid to Debate Barack Obama – Video 10/30/11

Here is video of Texas Gov. Rick Perry in an extensive interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday today.

Wallace began by asking Perry about his debate performances. Perry readily admitted he is “not the best debater,” but joked he may turn out to be pretty good by the time he gets through all of them. Perry committed to taking part in the next five scheduled debates, after several days in which his campaign had floated the possibility he might skip upcoming debates. Wallace asked him bluntly if he can stand on the stage with Barack Obama in front of 100 million people and make the case against Obama effectively. Perry said he was not afraid at all to stand on the stage with Obama and draw a very bright line between his record and the failed record of Obama.

Perry also talked about his “Flat Tax” Plan, and a number of other policy issues.

    Perry is going to have to either win outright South Carolina, and the buffer will be my state, Florida…Doing my best to help him here, but the Romney people have deep links set up and, sadly, many Florida pols are falling into the narrative that Willard is the best one to defeat Obama, especially in our swing state. (I wrote, just yesterday, feisty emails to Cong. Mack and my state Sen. Flores, for backing him)
