Rick Perry Tells Redstate’s Erick Erickson His Campaign had Nothing to Do with Herman Cain Harassment Story – 11/2/11

In an interview last night with Redstate’s Erick Erickson, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said he and his campaign had absolutely nothing to do with leaking the information about past allegations of sexual harassment against Herman Cain to Politico. Hear the audio at Redstate.

Earlier in the evening, Cain’s Chief of Staff, Mark Block, had directly accused the Perry Campaign of being behind the story published in Politico.

Transcript (minus Governor Perry’s “thinking-aloud” way of talking :D ):

“Our campaign had absolutely nothing to do with it. You
know I’m disappointed that there’s finger pointing going on
and the sooner we get back to talking about the issues that are
important to the people of this country the better, and that’s how we
    get Americans working again.”
“There’s not anybody in my campaign that knew anything about this,
that’s associated with my campaign in any form or fashion. I
mean it, end of story, I mean this is one of those that’s about as clear cut as I can tell ya. We found out about the
allegations against Mr. Cain same time everybody else did.”
