Two new polls out of Iowa show Newt Gingrich surging to within four-points of the top of the GOP Presidential Field.

Herman Cain leads Gingrich by a 22%-18% margin in a new We Ask America Poll, with Mitt Romney in third at 15%.

In a new poll by JMC Enterprises, Cain and Romney are tied at the top with 20%, followed by Gingrich at 16%.

That’s a major move up for Gingrich. He had only 5% support in the We Ask America poll conducted on August 16. Cain was also at only 5% in that August poll.

i think newt might surprise everyone. i must admit he is a very very smart man but i wonder about his age. seems we already tried the route “young and dumb”, so lets not do that again.

I hope Newt takes the nomination for two reasons:

First, he is clearly the most intelligent of the Republican nominees.  Mitt Romney has grown unbearable since he cannot articulate a coherent stance on anything.  Herman Cain is way out of his depth.  Rick Perry is a moron, straight up.

Secondly, I feel Gingrich is very beatable.  I know Obama is awful but I’d rather have him than any of these clowns.
