Gingrich Says Herman Cain “May Well be Innocent” but Should Not “Joke About” Issues like Sexual Harassment – Audio 11/11/11

Here is audio of Newt Gingrich saying Herman Cain should not be joking about issues like sexual harassment, reacting to news that Cain had cracked a joke about Clarence Thomas accuser Anita Hill supporting him.

“I think if you look at the concerns we have about issues like sexual harassment, if you look at the tragedy at Penn State, if you look at how people feel in general about this kind of stuff, it’s not something to be joked about. . . ”

Gingrich said Cain “may well be innocent” of the accusations against him, but said these are not things “you joke about.”

I completely agree with Gingrich.  Cain may be innocent but I’m finding it distasteful that he is joking about Anita Hill, who I did not believe in the 90′s.  However this lack of seriousness when it comes to sexual harassment by Cain makes me not vote for him. I saw him on Cavuto’s show today, and he was laughing too much about that joke.

I’m just one independent voter, and while I do not believe the charges against him, he does not seem to get that every word he says will be scrutinized, and he does not seem very disciplined when it comes to his campaign, he does not seem serious many times.

I’m leaning towards voting for Newt Gingrich, which as a Clinton supporter from the 90′s, I never ever thought  I would even entertain voting for, I could not stand Cain one bit just a few years ago. However, I have been very impressed by Newt in the debates, his willingness to take on the leftist media, and that he doesn’t really seem to attack any repubs, praises them all (while respectfully distinguishing himself on policy from their positions), and always he seems to keep the focus on the main opponent, Obama; One main reason I favor Newt is because he makes his case so forcefully & precisely against Barry Soetero.
