A new Rasmussen Poll in Iowa shows Newt Gingrich surging out to a 13-point lead in the first-in-the-nation voting state, less than seven weeks before the Iowa Caucuses on January 3, 2012.
Gingrich leads Mitt Romney 32%-19%, with Herman Cain falling to a distant third place at 13%. It’s an incredible turn-around in less than one month for both Gingrich and Cain. A Rasmussen Poll from October 19 showed Herman Cain leading Mitt Romney 28%-21%, with Newt Gingrich at only 9%! In less than a month, Cain has dropped 15-points, while Gingrich has incresed by 23-points!. Mitt Romney’s support has remained virtually the same.
In our 21-day average of Polls out of Iowa, Herman Cain still has a slight lead over Newt Gingrich, 20.4%-17.4%, with Mitt Romney right there with them at 17.3%.
