Michele Bachmann in September Debate on what to Do with Illegals: “It Depends upon Where They Live, How Long They Have Been Here. . . ” – Video

Michele Bachmann has been very critical of Newt Gingrich’s remarks on illegal immigration in the most recent debate, seeking to take advantage of what she calls his amnesty position.

But Greg Hengler at Townhall has uncovered Bachmann’s own words during a GOP Debate this past September that sounds an awful lot like Newt Gingrich’s position on what to do with the illegals already in the country:

“Well, that’s right. And again, it is sequential, and it depends upon where they live, how long they have been here, if they have a criminal record. All of those things have to be taken into place.”

I’m not in the Michele Bachmann camp but to be fair to her, she said on Fox and Friends this morning that in the full context of that quote she was being asked how to deport 11 million people. She said it’s “sequential” and that the criminals are the first to go, etc.  It wasn’t a question of amnesty, but rather in what order illegals go home.

I find her answer questionable, but maybe it’s not if we see the whole quote.  This mini clip is only 23 seconds.  Maybe if we had 2-3 minutes prior we’d see where the conversation really was.
