DNC Releases Ad Attacking Mitt Romney as “Two Men Trapped In One Body” – Video 11/28/11

Hard to know what to make of this ad. The Democrat National Committee put it out. They essentially attack Romney for having no core beliefs, showing his change on issues like abortion. But do they think showing people Romney was once pro-choice and now is not, will make them want to vote for Obama – who is radically pro-choice? I don’t think so.

Perhaps they are trying to keep Romney from getting the GOP Nomination. If they want to run against Romney – as some conservatives say they do – why are they running these ads right now? It wouldn’t make sense. If they are licking their chops to run against Romney – they would just be quiet and do nothing to harm him. The reality is that the polling in state after state – including some very blue states like Michigan, Wisconsin, New Hampshire – shows that Romney would run the strongest against Obama. That does not mean he should be the nominee, nor does it mean a different GOP Nominee would not eventually run as strong or stronger than he would. But it does mean that Democrats right now are more likely to be afraid of Romney than other GOP Candidates. That would explain this ad running right now – in hopes it will hurt Romney.
