New Iowa Poll Shows Newt Gingrich Leading in Iowa One Month Ahead of the Iowa Caucuses

The Des Moines Register is out with their “Iowa Poll” just one month ahead of the Iowa Caucuses, and it shows Newt Gingrich with a seven-point lead over the GOP Presidential Field in Iowa.

Gingrich gets 25% support in the poll, followed by Ron Paul at 18% and Mitt Romney at 16%. Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain received 8% each, with Rick Perry and Rick Santorum at 6%. Jon Huntsman got only 2% support.

A month out from voting in Iowa on January 3, 2012, our 21-day average of polls out of Iowa now has Newt Gingrich with a 12.2 point lead over Mitt Romney.
