New Poll has Newt Gingrich with Smaller Lead in Iowa; Rick Perry Moving Up – 12/12/11

A new poll in Iowa has Newt Gingrich still on top there, but with a smaller lead. American Research Group released the new survey showing Gingrich leading Mitt Romney and Ron Paul 22%-17%, with Rick Perry making a strong move up to 13%. No other candidate reaches double-figures.

In the 21-day average of polls from Iowa, Gingrich now holds an 11.5 point lead over Mitt Romney 28.5%-17%, with Ron Paul in third at 15.9%. Rick Perry is now fourth at 9%.
