Former U.S. Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell Endorses Mitt Romney for President – Video 12/13/11

Here is video of former Delaware U.S. Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell (of “I am not a witch” fame) on “Hannity” last night, where she endorsed Mitt Romney for the GOP Presidential Nomination.

O’Donnell cited Romney’s “executive experience” as a major reason for her endorsement. O’Donnell has been a real favorite of some Tea Party supporters, and her endorsement of Romney is somewhat surprising given the fact Romney has done little to court Tea Party voters.

When asked if she was going to go “on the road” with Romney, O’Donnell said, “I’d like to. . . . I’d like to do whatever they think would be helpful.”

O’Donnell lost her Delaware U.S. Senate bid in 2010 to Democrat Chris Coons by a large 57%-40% margin, despite it being a wave Republican year. She told Hannity she would likely run again for office at some point in the future.

I would’ve been surprised if she had endorsed anyone else.  Romney helped her with her campaign plus all the other tea party candidates she named in this interview (like Marco Rubio and Nikki Haley).  I agreed with her that the tea party is being unfair to Romney.  It’s really bizarre how Romney and Huckabee were the two conservatives according to the media last time around and John McCain was the moderate.  Nothing’s changed, yet now the media has crowned Romney a moderate.  MSM is trying to have it both ways, which ever suits them more at the time.

O’Donnell was also in the news a month or so ago for talking about how she contributed the maximum amount to Romney’s campaign, it would’ve been a strange thing if she’d endorsed someone else.

Thanks for the info, dixielea. I did not remember all that.  I know Romney did not make it a practice to speak at Tea Party rallies, and that’s why it was surprising to me. But his support of O’Donnell in 2010 undoubtedly played a major role in her decision.
