Newt Gingrich Says He Could Not Support Ron Paul as GOP Nominee; Says Paul’s Views “Totally Outside the Mainstream of Virtually Every Decent American” – Video 12/27/11
It’s getting rough out there.
Here is video of Newt Gingrich talking to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer today, where he unloaded on Rep. Ron Paul. Paul has been hammering Gingrich with an avalanche of ads in Iowa saying Gingrich is guilty of “serial hypocrisy.” Gingrich told Blitzer he would not vote for Paul if Paul wins the GOP Presidential Nomination. Gingrich said Paul’s views are “totally outside the mainstream of virtually every decent American.”
Gingrich gave a laundry list of reasons why he could not support Paul, including:
- He disowns 10 years of his own newsletters; claims to not know what is in them
- He believes the United States is responsible for 9/11
- He wrote in his newsletter that the 1993 World Trade Center bombing “might have been a CIA plot.”
- He doesn’t believe it matters if the Iranians have a nuclear weapon.
