Rick Santorum Gets Called on the Carpet by Iowa Voter for Calling on Iowans Not to “Settle” when He “Settled” for Mitt Romney in 2008 – Video 1/2/12
Here is video of Sen. Rick Santorum getting called on the carpet by an Iowa voter today about why he “settled” for Mitt Romney by endorsing him in 2008, but is now telling Iowans not to “settle” for someone less conservative than they want as the GOP Nominee.
The voter asked Santorum:
“You always talk about not settling, and I think that’s an important thing for Iowa Caucus-goers, but news came in the last couple of days that you endorsed Gov. Romney a few years ago and you essentially have said, ‘Well that was because, you know, I didn’t want John McCain so I was settling for Mitt Romney,’” said a voter in the crowd. “Isn’t it disingenuous to tell us not to settle, when that’s what you did four years ago?”
Santorum passed over Gov. Mike Huckabee to endorse Romney back in 2008. Huckabee won the Iowa Caucuses.
