ABC News Journalists Offer their “Order of Finish” Predictions on the Iowa Caucuses – 1/3/12

A number of ABC News journalists have offered their predictions on the order of finish in tonight’s Iowa Caucuses:

RICK KLEIN , Senior Washington Editor, World News with Diane Sawyer – Romney, Santorum, Paul, Perry, Gingrich, Bachmann, Huntsman

AMY WALTER, ABC News Political Director – Romney, Santorum, Paul, Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann, Huntsman

JONATHAN KARL, ABC News Senior Political Correspondent – Santorum, Romney, Paul, Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann, Huntsman

Z. BYRON WOLF, ABCNews.com Politics Editor – Romney, Perry, Paul, Santorum, Gingrich, Bachmann, Huntsman

(These predictions were altered before caucus time)

CHRIS GOOD, ABC News political unit – Romney, Santorum, Paul, Gingrich, Perry, Bachmann, Huntsman

MATT NEGRIN, ABC News political reporter – Paul, Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, Perry, Bachmann, Huntsman

My guess is that the top three will be Romney, Paul, and Santorum. What order they will be in, I have no idea. If I had to pick, I’d say Romney to win, but Santorum has the momentum and could pull it out as well. We’ll see. What do you think?

I’m a fan of Romney so I’m hoping he’s first, but I’m worried it will be Santorum.  Actually, I like Santorum too, so I wouldn’t be too heartbroken.  I’m relieved to see most of these ABC folks predicting Romney, but I wonder if they’re taking into account Santorum’s late trajectory.  Also, I have to think the preachers pushed Santorum on Sunday to all their parishioners.  (I’m a little perplexed by the degree to which Iowan’s let their preachers choose their candidate for them.)

Having said all that, I don’t think Iowa matters too much for the long haul, and they hardly have any delegates.  But, I’ll cross my fingers and say Romney, Santorum, Paul, Perry, Gingrich, Bachmann.  (I’m gambling a little to put Perry ahead of Gingrich.)
