2008 John McCain New Hampshire Ad Called Mitt Romney a “Phony” – Video

Sen. John McCain endorsed Mitt Romney today in New Hampshire. But here is a 2008 McCain Campaign ad that flat out called Mitt Romney a “phony.”

Of course, Rick Santorum endorsed Mitt Romney in 2008.

I’ve been watching Hannity and Greta re-play the old animosity between Romney and McCain too.  However, it’s not as though they’re just now burying the hatchet on January 4, 2012.  Why are we overlooking the fact that Romney campaigned harder for McCain than anyone else 4 years ago?  They buried the hatchet way back then.  This is not new news.

One thing I have to mention about these old attacks on Romney is how old the footage is when they show his previous positions.  The guy looks 40 years old, whereas he’s 62 now.  I don’t know how old he actually is in those clips, but it’s telling to the viewer that he looks significantly younger especially when he ran against Kennedy.  There are lots of things I view differently after 20 years too.

You are right that Romney worked very hard for John McCain, despite their very tough battle against one another. I’m sure that had a lot to do with McCain’s endorsement today.
