A new Insider Advantage Poll in South Carolina confirms Gov. Mitt Romney’s widening lead less than a week before Saturday’s South Carolina GOP Primary.
The new poll gives Romney an 11-point lead over Newt Gingrich, 32%-21%, with Ron Paul (14%) and Rick Santorum (13%) well back. Just one week ago, Insider Advantage had Romney with only a 2-point lead over Gingrich at 23%-21%. This poll joins two other polls in recent days showing Romney with a widening lead in South Carolina, which may indicate the “Bain Capital” attacks on Romney by his rivals has actually helped him with GOP voters.
In our 7-day average of polls from South Carolina, Romney now holds a 10.2 point lead over the GOP Field.
