New Poll Shows Newt Gingirch Surging into the Lead in South Carolina Two Days Ahead of Primary Voting – 1/19/12

Just two days ahead of voting in the South Carolina Primary, one new poll shows Newt Gingrich now leading Mitt Romney 32%-29%.

An Insider Advantage Poll done entirely after Monday night’s GOP Debate puts Gingrich in the lead, a dramatic turnaround from a poll done by the same firm last Sunday, which gave Romney an 11-point lead over Gingrich.

The new poll also shows Rick Santorum falling back rather dramatically, now at only 11% support. Ron Paul is actually in third place at 15%.

We’ll see if any other polls put Gingrich in the lead today or tomorrow. For now, our three-day average of polls has Romney now with a 6-point lead in South Carolina.
