Rasmussen becomes Second New Poll Showing Newt Gingrich Storming into the Lead in Florida – 1/23/12

Rasmussen is out with a new poll from Florida, and it shows Newt Gingrich storming out to a 9 point lead over Mitt Romney eight days before the Florida Republican Primary (January 31).

Romney had been leading in Florida by 20 points before last week’s debates and a Gingrich win in South Carolina. Now, the landscape has dramatically changed.

Rick Santorum was 30 points behind at 11%, and Ron Paul had 8%. The Rasmussen Poll joins Insider Advantage in showing Gingrich moving out to a lead over Romney. The 3-day polling average in Florida now puts Gingrich ahead by 8.5 points over Romney.
