GOP Sen. David Vitter Gets Ambushed by CNN Anchor with Questions on His Past – Video 1/30/12
Here is video of CNN Anchor Ashleigh Banfield talking to Louisiana U.S. Senator David Vitter, where she ambushed him with questioning about a prostitution scandal in his life from 4 1/2 years ago. They were supposed to be talking about the current GOP Presidential race. She did it under the guise of wanting to know how a politician like himself, and Newt Gingrich, can “manage baggage” from such scandals and do well in elections. My view is that she was actually just bringing it up because she could. Vitter handled it well, refusing to talk about the old scandal, and refusing to comment on Newt Gingrich’s past. Instead, he told her, “The good news is, in America, it’s not up to CNN how the GOP presidential nominee is chosen.” It’s up to the voters.
As NewsBusters points out, isn’t it interesting that the liberal media never asks Bill Clinton about any of his old scandals? That treatment seems to be reserved for Republicans.
