Mitt Romney Speech Lays Out Economic Plan that Values “Opportunity” over “Entitlement” – Complete Video 2/24/12

Here is complete video of the speech Gov. Mitt Romney delivered to the Detroit Economic Club where he set forth his tax and economic plan for the nation if he is elected President. Romney said America is facing a fundamental choice as to whether we want to be an “entitlement” society or an “opportunity” society.

The speech has been lost, however, in news reports about all the empty seats at Ford Field, where the event took place – as if the Romney Campaign tried to fill the stadium and failed! Remember, Romney was speaking to the “Detroit Economic Club.” I don’t think there was any thought of trying to fill the stadium, as you can tell by the way the podium is set up. But with that said, whoever decided to move the event of 1,200-1,500 to Ford Field really dropped the ball. I don’t know if it was the Romney Campaign or the Economic Club’s decision. But someone needs to learn that the optics of an event with 1,200 in an overcrowded room is much better than a crowd of 1,200 in a cavernous, echoing stadium! You don’t want there to be enough room for everyone!
