CNN’s Anderson Cooper Says DNC Chair in an “Alternate Universe” to Claim No Democrat Discord on Putting “God” and “Jerusalem” back in Party Platform – Video 9/5/12
This is hilarious! Democrat National Committee Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, tries to deny the obvious – that Democrats were roughly split 50/50 in three voice votes on whether to put “God” and “Jerusalem” back in their Party Platform. The Convention Chairman, Mayor Villaraigosa, ruled it was a 2/3 vote, but it clearly was not. But in this video, Schultz tries to say there was no discord over it! Give credit to the CNN Reporter. She was relentless in questioning Schultz on this issue.
Politico reports that Barack Obama knew the platform would not include “God” and “Jerusalem,” and voiced no disagreement with it UNTIL Republicans began hammering him on it Tuesday night. Only then did Obama feel it was “personally important” to put those words back in:
“. . . . Meanwhile, my colleague Reid Epstein reports tonight that President Obama “had seen the language prior to the convention, a campaign source said, but did not seek to change it until after Republicans jumped on the omissions of God and Jerusalem late Wednesday. And even then, it had to be forced through a convention hall full of delegates who nearly shouted down the change.” . . .”
Even Anderson Cooper scoffed at what Schultz said, calling her remarks something from “an alternate universe.”
