BLOOMBERG: Protesters attempted to storm the U.S. Embassy in Yemen’s capital two days after four people were killed in an attack on an American diplomatic mission in Libya.

The demonstrators breached the security perimeter of the embassy in Sana’a and set two cars ablaze, Yousef Al-Ahjan, a protester, said as thick columns of black smoke rose from the compound’s vicinity. Security personnel fired into the air to disperse the crowds, he said.

Order has been restored to the embassy complex, the Yemeni Embassy in Washington said in an e-mailed statement, adding that there were no casualties in the attack. “The government of Yemen will honor international obligations to ensure the safety of diplomats and will step up security around all foreign missions,” according to the statement.

The protest follows similar demonstrations against U.S. embassies in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia. . . . . Read More
