Sen. Ted Cruz Sends Letter to Banks Pressured by Rahm Emanuel to Cease Business with Gun Manufacturers; Tells Emanuel, “Keep Your Efforts to Diminish the Bill of Rights North of the Red River” – 1/29/13
GOP Sen. Ted Cruz recently sent letters to the CEOs of major banks in Chicago that have been on the receiving end of pressure from far-Left Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to stop lending money to Gun Manufacturers. Emanuel’s reported attempts are part of the Left’s anti-2nd Amendment crusade underway across the nation.
But Cruz is pushing back, inviting those banks, and Gun Manufacturers, to head to Texas for a much more friendly business and pro-freedom climate. He also had some direct words for Rahm Emanuel:
“Your continued anti-gun crusade may well cause some to wonder if the interests of the citizens of Chicago are being sacrificed in pursuit of a partisan agenda.
Regardless, directing your attack at legitimate firearms manufacturers undermines the Second Amendment rights of millions of Texans,” Cruz concluded. “In the future, I would ask that you might keep your efforts to diminish the Bill of Rights north of the Red River.”
If Cruz keeps this up, he’s going to have to start thinking about a 2016 Presidential run. Or maybe he already is.
