Britain’s MEP Daniel Hannan on Hugo Chavez: “Dictatorships are Not Established Overnight. . . . We are witnessing the Slow Asphyxiation” of Democracy in Venezuela – Video 2/11/13
A trumpet voice for conservatism crying in the wilderness of the European Parliament.
This is Britain’s Daniel Hannan, a British member of the European Parliament, blasting the “slow asphyxiation” of Democracy in Venezuela by “President” Hugo Chavez.
“Dictatorships are not established overnight. They take place through a thousand small subversions of the Democratic order – targeting of opposition leaders, the subversion of the electoral commission, the vitiation of the Judiciary, the dissolution of the National Assembly, and, not least, the silencing of the independent media.”
